The King Of The Seven Seas by DanSchoening The King Of The Seven Seas by DanSchoening
The final hero til I start full throttle on the Line Up in Sept is good ol' Gills McPhee himself, Aquaman. I've always liked this character, and he tends to get a bum wrap, mainly thanks to the Superfriends show. He was pretty much useless on that show unless it invloved a large body of water and some sea beasts. I really dig his new hand too, adds an interesting angle to his character. Cheers!

Sweet. Though I prefer the long-haired version, this is an awesome rendition of traditional Aquaman. :)

Poor old Aquaman. See we were drunk watching Justice League, and decided to amp his powers up by letting him throw fish at people. I mean who wouldn't get knocked out by a haddock ;)

Like the fact you went for the traditional Aman and not the trident beardy bloke.

I always figured he'd be more tanned? I dunno? You're right about the bum wrap thing, I wish I could command dolphins to attack my enemies, that would be a kick-ass power to have. They wouldn't see it coming that's for sure, walkin' down the street bein' jerks and then BLAMMO! a gang of dolphins starts beatin' in their skulls with baseball bats.

great design as always BTW

"Dolphins!! ... ATTACK!!!" (as sonar rings emit from my head)

I think under the sea, tans are few and far between. I do see what you mean though. LOL, doplhins are smarter than Aquaman as far as I know.

Nice wicked trident. Usually you don't see those in the comics or cartoons. But it makes sense. They guy can't be everything by being an aquatic Dr. Doolittle.

i just have one request: will you do some action ilustration for your gallery?
because always summit character standing and possing. but you are a cartoon artist, you can move the character, then why donīt make more dinamic images
sorry, your art rocks, but this several amount of standing characters are so boring...

Thanks for the C&C man. These line ups are more of a study in design than action. The great thing about having them like this is that I can now use these as final ref for any pic I do in the future with them. Now they will always have that same look, and will never be off model. Perhaps when they are all done, I'll do a fight picture. I've been interested in re-creating the Superfriends intro image with these designs

Another addition to JL lineup. Nice classic Aquaman. Yeah, the old one gets a bum wrap...Of course if your name is Aquaman you shouldn't drown in water... The new one in JLU cartoon gets the most respect.

It's too bad that the original Aquaman just died in the comics.
There's a new one, but his origin is different, I haven't really read up on it.

Yeah, the comic industry is littered with desire to completely change comic book super heroes as we know it.
Superman lost his powers for a year...Batwoman is back(for those of you who remember her from way back in the day), and she's a lesbian...Spider-Man revealed his secret identity to the public....It's crazy.

Mr. My Hand is Living Water himself!
Love the supersized trident you gave him.
Speaking of Super Friends, I must make a stand and suggest you, with a modern animationy style, do the old Superfriends only heroes!
Apache Chief! Samurai! Black Vulcan! I'm Sure There Was Another!
